first_img The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer criticized Nigel Farage's "Bitcoin account."

In a speech on Monday, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey criticized Reform Party leader Nigel Farage's stance on Bitcoin, calling him "Liz Truss with a Bitcoin account." Healey stated that Farage wants the public to believe he is a representative of the common people, but on economic issues, he is simply "Liz Truss with a Bitcoin account." Liz Truss is the UK's shortest-serving Prime Minister, widely criticized for her 2022 mini-budget driven by debt. Healey also mentioned that his party, the Labour Party, will help the UK lead through fiscal discipline, good jobs, and a strong industry.Farage has long been a political supporter of cryptocurrency, primarily viewing Bitcoin as a matter of personal freedom since 2020, and opposing state control over currency. He has stated that he was denied banking services by the UK private bank Coutts, which led him to take a greater interest in digital assets. Last year, at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, he claimed that if elected Prime Minister, he would cut crypto capital gains tax and force the Bank of England to establish Bitcoin reserves.Farage has faced criticism this year for accepting donations from cryptocurrency entrepreneurs, including tech entrepreneur and Tether investor Christopher Harborne, as well as Ben Delo, one of the founders of the now-closed crypto exchange BitMEX. The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into reports of Reform violating overseas donation rules, with Reform denying any wrongdoing and stating that they will cooperate.

Next week's macro data focus will be on Friday's U.S. non-farm payroll report, including non-farm employment population, unemployment rate, and average hourly wage, which are directly related to the Federal Reserve's interest rate path and are important employment data ahead of the October monetary policy meeting. first_img VanEck rated the executive compensation of Metaplanet as "poor," with dilution risks far exceeding those of peers

On Friday, asset management company VanEck released a report on the compensation of executives at the top ten digital asset treasury companies, rating the compensation structure of the Japanese Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet as "poor," making it the only company to fall into the lowest rating. The report shows that Metaplanet's equity plan corresponds to 14.7% of fully diluted shares, with executive risk exposure at 8.2%, which is ten times the average level of 0.8% for the other nine companies, and the scale of the equity plan is also nearly four times the industry average. In comparison, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, Strategy, has an equity plan that accounts for only 2% of fully diluted shares, with executive risk exposure at 0.5%, and its compensation structure rated as "good." Metaplanet currently ranks third among publicly listed companies in Bitcoin holdings with 43,000 BTC. VanEck pointed out that the gap partly stems from Metaplanet's previous compensation mechanism: the option pool automatically expanded when the company issued shares to purchase Bitcoin, causing it to swell from 46 million shares to 319.5 million shares, adding approximately 273 million potential shares, which drew criticism from shareholders at the time.Metaplanet terminated the automatic adjustment mechanism at the end of August and reduced the option pool by 41% to 188.2 million shares in September, but VanEck believes these adjustments are still "far from satisfactory," calling for the retraction of the expansion of approximately 273 million shares in favor of a shareholder-approved compensation plan, while also suggesting that executive compensation be linked to the number of Bitcoins corresponding to each fully diluted share and adopting a written grant timing policy.

first_img Stack BTC, supported by Farage, plans to acquire the precious metals dealer Direct Bullion for 16 million USD

The UK Bitcoin Treasury Company Stack BTC (STAK) proposed to acquire the precious metals dealer Direct Bullion for up to £12 million (approximately $16 million) and plans to use the operating cash flow generated from precious metal sales to support Bitcoin accumulation. This non-binding agreement includes £3 million in cash, approximately £4 million in shares, and £5 million in performance-linked cash payments, with a minimum share issuance price of 6 pence and a lock-up period of four years. As Stack director Paul Withers controls the seller Direct Bullion, this transaction constitutes a related party transaction and is classified as a reverse acquisition, which still requires due diligence and the signing of a final agreement. Direct Bullion achieved revenue of £52.1 million and a post-tax profit of £2.15 million for the fiscal year ending January 2026. This acquisition will be Stack's first transaction under the strategy of "acquiring profitable companies to fund Bitcoin purchases." Stack BTC currently holds approximately 68 Bitcoins (around $5.2 million), and its stock price fell by 1% on the day the news was announced.Nigel Farage invested £215,000 through his company Thorn In The Side, holding approximately 6.3% of Stack. Previously, Reform UK received donations of $48.5 million each from crypto billionaires Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo within 24 hours, totaling approximately $97 million, setting a record for political donations in the UK.
