Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency proposed by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008 and released as open-source software in 2009. It is based on blockchain technology and verifies transactions through a peer-to-peer network, using a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism. The core feature of Bitcoin is its limited supply, with a total of 21 million coins, which has anti-inflation characteristics. As the first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is widely accepted globally, used for payments, and regarded as a store of value. Its decentralization and security make it the cornerstone of the cryptocurrency market.

Data: The high-position chips of BTC in 2025 have decreased by 41.5%, and the market's maximum supply pressure may be easing

On-chain analyst Murphy stated that currently, all chips bought in BTC in 2025 are basically in a state of loss. Therefore, apart from wallet migrations, the reduction in the scale of 2025 chips likely means that holders are cutting losses and selling. Data shows that as of now, approximately 4.77 million BTC chips bought in 2025 remain, a decrease of 41.5% from the peak in December last year. From the downward trend, this group has experienced two phases: a rapid decrease in chips before February this year, and a significant slowdown in the rate of decline after February, although it still maintains a certain slope. Murphy believes that the 2025 chips may be the largest potential supply side in the current market scale. In contrast, the BTC chips formed in 2024, 2023, and 2022 have basically completed the release of high-level locked positions due to still having unrealized gains, and the slope of the curve is gradually flattening, indicating that the selling pressure from long-term holders is weakening.Historical data shows that during the bottom phases of the past two bear markets, high-level chips have shown a significant decline: at the bottom of the bear market in 2022, the chips bought at high levels in 2021 decreased by about 51%; at the bottom of the bear market in 2018, the chips bought at high levels in 2017 decreased by about 62%. If we refer to historical cycles, Murphy believes that in this bear market bottom phase, the reduction of high-level chips in 2025 may be in the range of 50%-60%, and the current decline of 41.5% indicates that there is still some room for release. However, this judgment has not yet considered the BTC bought by institutional investors such as spot ETFs and MicroStrategy, as this portion of chips is mostly in a long-term locked state, which may reduce the actual market supply pressure.

153 stolen addresses contain 132.95 BTC, and researchers are still unable to reproduce the Coldcard attacker's seed

According to monitoring by Bitcoin News, new research published by @PraveenPerera shows that Coldcard attackers seem to first identify addresses with vulnerabilities, then sort them by the amount of Bitcoin held, starting to transfer in batches from the addresses with the highest holdings. The transfer software used was relatively crude. One address had 225 spendable UTXOs, and the attackers extracted exactly the latest 200, leaving the earliest 25, which included a UTXO worth 0.16 BTC. This aligns perfectly with the limitation of a blockchain API investigated by researchers, which defaults to returning 200 records, indicating that the attackers may have failed to load the next page of data. The software even spent a UTXO of 294 satoshis, reportedly increasing the transaction fee by about 2040 satoshis, with the spent amount significantly higher than the value of the UTXO itself. The authors of the study believe that the builders of this tool may have a better understanding of the account balance system than of the Bitcoin UTXO model. Although the attackers seem to have obtained the complete seed of the victims, at least 75 BTC still remain in other addresses derived from the same seed. The biggest suspicion currently is that among the 153 stolen addresses, there are still 132.95 BTC, and researchers have been unable to reproduce the seed behind these addresses, so it cannot be ruled out that the attackers obtained undisclosed private device data or candidate data.

Michael Saylor proposed the digital asset spectrum framework: BTC represents digital capital, and STRC represents digital credit

The founder of Strategy, Michael Saylor, proposed the concept of the "Digital Assets Monetary Spectrum," categorizing different types of digital assets based on volatility, potential returns, and trading functions.Saylor stated that the digital asset system can be divided into four levels: Bitcoin (BTC): Digital Capital (Digital Capital) STRC: Digital Credit (Digital Credit) SR-strcUSX: Digital Money (Digital Money) USDT: Digital Currency (Digital Currency). He believes that from left to right, asset volatility and potential returns gradually decrease, while stability and trading utility continuously increase. Saylor stated that Bitcoin is the "ultimate value storage asset," possessing high volatility, high potential returns, and the attributes of a digital asset that does not require third-party credit endorsement; whereas stablecoins are the "ultimate medium of exchange," emphasizing stability and payment functionality. In between the two, digital credit and digital currency serve as a bridge connecting capital and currency. Among them, STRC is defined by Saylor as "digital credit," characterized by relative stability, high fixed returns, and certain value storage attributes. He further stated that digital currency combines digital currency technology with digital capital economic attributes, possessing stability, earning capacity, trading convenience, and value storage functions. Saylor noted that digital capital belongs to bearer assets, while assets such as digital credit, digital currency, and digital cash are created and managed by digital financial companies, with their ownership layer corresponding to "Digital Equity." These components together form the future "Digital Finance Stack."
