Ondo abandons the independent blockchain route and launches a new execution network: creating an architecture for "exchange-level performance on-chain."

Ondo Finance announced the launch of the new Ondo Network, positioned as a high-performance execution layer, aimed at combining the trading speed of centralized exchanges (CEX) with the non-custodial and secure settlement capabilities of blockchain. Ondo CEO Ian De Bode stated that the Ondo Network is an "evolutionary version" of the previous Ondo Chain plan, and the company will not operate two networks simultaneously, but will adjust the original plan of building a complete blockchain to focus on the execution layer architecture.According to reports, Ondo initially planned to fully bring real-world assets on-chain through Ondo Chain, but after developing the Ondo Perps perpetual contract trading platform and communicating with users, it was found that the current market's core bottleneck is not asset settlement, but rather trading execution efficiency. The Ondo Network adopts a separated architecture for execution, verification, and settlement, utilizing secure hardware to isolate the execution environment, which enhances trading speed while maintaining user asset self-custody, verifiable transactions, and permissionless blockchain characteristics.Currently, Ondo Perps has become the first application built on this network, supporting 24-hour trading of stocks and commodity perpetual contracts, and allowing the use of tokenized real assets as collateral. Ondo stated that in the future, this network will also support applications requiring high performance, privacy protection, and verifiable execution, such as spot trading, lending, and structured products. Furthermore, the launch of the Ondo Network will not change the positioning of the ONDO token. The CEO stated that ONDO will continue to serve as the governance and incentive token for the Ondo RWA ecosystem and market infrastructure, and as the network gradually decentralizes, ONDO will be used to coordinate the incentive mechanisms for verification nodes, observers, and ecosystem participants.

The giant whale "sets 10 major goals": Bitcoin may challenge $100,000 again around March next year

The "Whale" stated in its post "Set 10 Major Goals" that after closing short positions, it quickly re-established long positions because its long-term bullish view on Bitcoin has not changed. It believes that the important boundary of the last bull market was around $60,000, and the current mainstream mining cost of Bitcoin is concentrated between $50,000 and $60,000; after Bitcoin dipped to $58,000 last month, it quickly recovered, further validating the support capacity of that area.In the past month, Bitcoin has fully oscillated and exchanged hands in the range of $58,000 to $63,000, and after a pullback, it has re-stabilized around $66,000. In the absence of systemic risks or significant fundamental changes, the risk-reward ratio of continuing to short at the current position is not high, and the market may see a surge and break through $72,000; if the market structure does not change significantly, Bitcoin has a high probability of challenging $100,000 again around March next year. Currently, U.S. stocks, especially in the artificial intelligence sector, are overall valued at relatively high levels, and future volatility may significantly increase. The correlation between Bitcoin and U.S. stocks has significantly decreased compared to previous cycles, and Bitcoin is gradually emerging as an independent market. It has set a trading invalidation range for the current position; if the market falls back to $61,500 to $64,000, and the trend proves the judgment to be incorrect, it will immediately close positions to control losses. It emphasizes: "Views can change, but discipline cannot change." In addition, the latest publicly available data shows that the "Whale" has set its Binance contract real account "Jason leo133" position to private status.

BlackRock, Strategy, and others jointly established the Bitcoin Security Alliance, committing to provide $15 million in funding for core developers and quantum resistance research over the next three years

Nine financial institutions and Bitcoin companies announced the joint establishment of the Bitcoin Security Alliance, with founding members including Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, BlackRock, Block, Blockstream, Coinbase, Fidelity, Galaxy, and Strategy, covering the entire chain of institutions such as custody, trading, infrastructure, payments, and asset management. The alliance commits to providing a total of $15 million in funding over the next three years to support developers and researchers in the field of Bitcoin security, including long-term work to prepare Bitcoin for the future era of quantum computing. Each member independently decides which developers, researchers, or organizations to direct their funding towards. The daily operations of the alliance are coordinated on a voluntary basis by Brink Executive Director Mike Schmidt, with Brink being a nonprofit organization that funds Bitcoin open-source developers. The alliance clearly states that it does not formulate or direct Bitcoin protocols, does not express opinions on specific protocol changes, and does not represent Bitcoin or its developers—Bitcoin development continues to be carried out by a globally decentralized community of contributors. Its positioning is to emulate the model of industry organizations that have long supported open-source software, providing resources and attention to developers without controlling the underlying work.Strategy CEO Phong Le stated, "As long-term holders, ensuring the security of Bitcoin for generations is our greatest incentive"; BlackRock's Global Head of Digital Assets Robert Mitchnick pointed out that the work of Bitcoin core developers is "extremely important," and this commitment will provide "significant additional funding" for Bitcoin's long-term security needs. The alliance will also serve as a reliable source of information for investors, the public, and the media in the field of Bitcoin security, with plans to publish and continuously update materials related to Bitcoin security in the coming months.

Gate Research Institute: June market structural adjustment, funds concentrated on impulse volume opportunities

Gate Research Institute recently released the market report titled "June Market Structural Adjustment, Funds Concentrated on Impulsive Volume Opportunities," indicating that in June 2026, the cryptocurrency market weakened again under the multiple influences of macro pressure, institutional capital outflows, and a decline in risk appetite. From the market structure perspective, June did not see a widespread recovery, but rather a localized profit effect driven by a few long-tail assets. About 71% of the top 500 tokens recorded a decline, with only a quarter achieving an increase. BTC, ETH, and most mainstream assets faced pressure simultaneously, while low market cap tokens like CYDX, ANSEM, VELVET, SYN, and CX recorded increases of several times or even hundreds of times due to event catalysts and capital speculation, significantly raising the overall average returns.Volume analysis shows that the average trading volume amplification factor for 450 valid samples is 2.54x, with a median of only 0.49x. Only 17 tokens had a volume increase of more than 3 times, and 8 tokens exceeded 10 times. TEMPLE (289.05x), CX (259.13x), and MTBILL (128.15x) ranked at the top of the volume list.Overall, the market in June is still in a phase of shrinking risk appetite, and true recovery signals still need to be observed in the stabilization of leading assets like BTC and ETH, as well as the re-diffusion of funds from long-tail speculation back to mainstream assets.

Cambridge Research: The United States hosts about 31% of Ethereum nodes, with over 1/3 of the nodes offline or affecting final confirmation

The latest research from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance shows that approximately 31% of Ethereum node activity is located in the United States, with about 39% distributed in the EU region excluding the UK, indicating that the geographical distribution of Ethereum nodes is still relatively concentrated in Western countries. The research leader, Alexander Neumuller, stated that the current node distribution is not concentrated in a single country but primarily relies on a few cloud service providers, including Hetzner, Amazon AWS, and OVH.It is noteworthy that the Ethereum network does not require half of the validators to fail for issues to arise; when more than one-third of validators go offline simultaneously, the network may be unable to complete the finalization of block checkpoints. Neumuller pointed out that nodes and validators do not have a one-to-one correspondence; a single node may run multiple validators, making it currently impossible to accurately assess the actual impact of a specific node or service provider failure on the validation network. Additionally, the research reassessed the energy consumption situation after Ethereum's Merge. The data shows that Ethereum's current annual energy consumption is approximately 7.9 GWh, equivalent to about 1 megawatt of continuous power, which is only about 0.02% of the pre-Merge level, with energy consumption decreasing by approximately 99.98%. Currently, the proportion of sustainable energy used by the Ethereum network exceeds 56%, higher than the global average. The research also pointed out that the concentration of client software is another potential risk; if a dominant client has a vulnerability, it could affect a large number of network participants. The report was published by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, with support from the Ethereum Foundation.

first_img Tiger Research: In the first half of 2026, cryptocurrency financing reached 13.3 billion USD, with the number of funding rounds down 78% from the peak in 2022

According to Tiger Research and RootData based on research of 9,416 investment transaction data from the first half of 2018 to 2026, the capital inflow in the cryptocurrency market reached $13.3 billion in the first half of 2026, which is basically on par with the total of $13.2 billion for the entire year of 2024. However, the number of financing rounds was only 435, a decrease of 78% from the peak of 1,978 rounds in 2022, indicating that market funds are accelerating towards a few large transactions. The report points out that the current cryptocurrency investment market is dominated by a few large crypto-native VCs focused on leading investments, as well as venture capital departments of exchanges with liquidity and marketing support, while medium-sized institutions are being rapidly squeezed out. In terms of financing structure, the number of seed round transactions decreased by 88% from 2022 to 81, while financing in Series A and later stages accounted for 75.2% of total investments, with Series A financing amounting to $745.8 million, exceeding the total amount of all seed round financing of $423.3 million during the same period. In terms of sectors, payments and stablecoins, centralized exchanges, and prediction markets have become the most concentrated areas of capital. The payments and stablecoins sector attracted $2.85 billion in funding in the first half of 2026, but about 84% of this was driven by mergers and acquisitions such as Mastercard's acquisition of BVNK and Payward's acquisition of Reap; the investment share in the CEX sector rose to 18.2%, while prediction markets rose to 17.5%. In contrast, the number of financing rounds in the gaming sector plummeted from 141 rounds in 2024 to only 5 rounds, a decrease of 96%. Additionally, traditional financial institutions participated in 54.5% of all investment transactions in the first half of 2026.It is reported that Tiger Research is an independent research institution established in 2022, covering the Asian digital asset market, with business operations in South Korea, Japan, China, and Indonesia, publishing institutional-level research content in five languages, with over 100,000 monthly readers and more than 200 institutional clients.
