The Hyper Foundation grants approximately 10 million USD to support the USDH exit migration, covering HIP-1, 3, and HyperEVM ecological projects

The Hyper Foundation announced that it will provide approximately $10 million in grants to developers affected by the USDH exit, to cover migration costs and support an orderly transition of the ecosystem. This round of funding will be allocated to affected HIP-1 spot deployers, HIP-3 perpetual contract deployers, HyperEVM protocol, USDH:USDC cross-chain bridge, and other ecosystem participants.Among them, migration grants are aimed at teams migrating USDH-related markets or deployments to USDC; while exit grants are for projects that choose to terminate USDH-related businesses, with amounts lower than equivalent migration plans, to encourage a smooth conclusion of the ecosystem. HIP-1 and HIP-3 grants are based on auction deployment cost estimates, while HyperEVM grants are assessed based on the scale of USDH TVL affected. All beneficiaries must complete migration or business closure by the end of July.On the user side, USDH holders need to operate according to the guidelines of each protocol and can complete the exchange to USDC through the spot market or HyperEVM path. The official has provided support for asset conversion with no fees or spot trading channels. The Hyper Foundation also stated that the USDH migration is progressing smoothly, thanks to the active cooperation of developers and the community, and expressed gratitude to the relevant builders.

Reuters: Binance says it will not exit Europe and will seek other EU operating licenses

According to a report by Reuters, Binance's head for Europe and the UK, Gillian Lynch, stated that despite setbacks in its attempt to apply for a European Union cryptocurrency operating license in Greece, Binance still plans to remain in the EU and will seek to obtain local operating permits again.Lynch said, "Binance will not leave Europe." She mentioned that Binance may just need to obtain authorization through different paths, and if not in Greece, the company will look for other alternatives. Binance currently has only one week left before its existing European operating license expires, and if it cannot obtain a new license, it may need to gradually shut down its EU operations. Two informed sources said that Binance had communicated with regulators in Ireland, Latvia, and Greece, but faced resistance in all three countries. The sources indicated that regulatory officials were concerned about Binance's past penalties related to money laundering issues, its complex international structure, and what they perceive as a risk-seeking culture. Lynch stated that Binance is unclear why it was not approved, as it previously believed that the Greek regulators planned to issue licenses. She also mentioned that Binance has contacted four or five regulatory agencies but only submitted a formal application to Greece. Regarding Binance's past issues, Lynch stated that the company has invested in compliance and internal controls, hiring about 1,500 compliance personnel, and claimed that there are no unresolved issues with its license application.

SoFi becomes the first national bank in the U.S. to offer bank-issued stablecoins to retail users, Coinbase receives CFTC approval to launch crypto perpetual contracts, Sequans announces a complete exit from its Bitcoin reserve strategy, currently holding 658 BTC

According to BBX data, yesterday the intertwining news of traditional finance's entry into cryptocurrency and corporate reserve exits presented the following core dynamics:SoFi Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: $SOFI) announced through a BusinessWire official press release that its SoFiUSD stablecoin has officially opened to approximately 14.7 million members within the SoFi app, supporting buying, selling, holding, and conversion, becoming the first national bank in U.S. history to embed its own stablecoin within a banking app (the issuer is SoFi Bank, N.A., regulated by the OCC). SoFiUSD (on-chain code SOFID) is pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and can be used on the Ethereum and Solana networks, with reserves backed by liquid assets and subject to regular independent CPA audits; in the coming weeks, tokenized deposits and 24/7 cross-border transfer functions will be launched, and an institutional trading channel will be opened in collaboration with Bullish exchange. SoFi CEO Anthony Noto stated, "Users no longer have to choose between blockchain technology and regulated bank products." The company's Q1 2026 crypto trading revenue reached $121.6 million, with a net income of approximately $852,000 after costs; SoFiUSD is not insured by FDIC or SIPC, does not constitute legal tender, and on-chain transactions are generally irreversible.Coinbase Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: $COIN) and the prediction market platform Kalshi announced that the two platforms have received approval from the CFTC to launch cryptocurrency perpetual contract products for U.S. customers, becoming the first exchanges approved to offer such products within the U.S.; this move by the CFTC officially brings perpetual contracts from a regulatory gray area into the federal derivatives legal framework, and a policy statement was released simultaneously, indicating that future applications for perpetual contracts in other asset classes will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. In 2025, the global trading volume of cryptocurrency perpetual contracts reached $61.7 trillion (up 29% year-on-year, according to CryptoQuant data), and the U.S. previously lacked regulated domestic trading venues. This approval is expected to drive a significant amount of institutional and retail funds back from offshore platforms to compliant channels in the U.S., with several other exchanges expected to follow suit with applications.Sequans Communications S.A. (NASDAQ: $SQNS) CEO Georges Karam clearly announced during the recent Q1 2026 earnings call that the company has completely terminated its previously initiated Bitcoin treasury reserve strategy. The company began its cryptocurrency layout in June 2025, raising approximately $384 million through debt and equity financing, and quickly accumulated 3,000 BTC by the end of July 2025; however, the crypto market crash in October 2025 triggered the company to deleverage, selling 970 BTC in November 2025 and another 1,025 BTC in Q1 2026; as of now, it holds approximately 658 BTC (completely debt-free, worth about $46.8 million), and the company stated it will gradually liquidate over time, with all funds returning to its core chip business. Sequans is an IoT/5G semiconductor company, and this case is one of the most significant "failed corporate Bitcoin reserve strategy cases" in 2026.

Signal hints at or exits Canada, refusing to cooperate with the new surveillance bill

The encrypted messaging app Signal stated that if Canada's Bill C-22 is officially passed and requires platforms to establish "lawful access" monitoring capabilities, the company may choose to exit the Canadian market rather than weaken end-to-end encryption. Signal's Vice President of Strategy and Global Affairs, Udbhav Tiwari, indicated that the bill could force communication services to create technical backdoors, thereby undermining encryption security and making private communications more susceptible to exploitation by hackers and foreign attackers.Bill C-22 was introduced in March 2026 as part of a new round of regulatory measures in Canada, requiring electronic service providers to establish law enforcement monitoring capabilities and retain certain user metadata for up to a year to assist in investigations of crimes such as terrorism and child exploitation. Critics argue that the bill is similar to the EU's previously controversial "chat monitoring" proposal, which could threaten end-to-end encryption and user privacy. Canadian Conservative MP Jacob Mantle stated that nearly all Canadian MPs use Signal precisely because of its privacy and security features, yet the bill could grant the government the ability to read private messages.Tiwari stated, "Signal would rather exit Canada than violate the privacy commitments made to users." In addition to Signal, the VPN provider Windscribe also indicated that if the bill passes in its current form, the company may follow Signal in withdrawing from the Canadian market. Windscribe claimed that the bill could force VPN services to log data that could identify users, violating its core privacy principles.

Curve has launched a bad debt recovery mechanism, allowing impaired claims to exit through trading or participate in recovery

Curve Finance officially announced that it is introducing a bad debt recovery mechanism based on on-chain market mechanisms, allowing CRV-affected users in certain lending markets with bad debts to choose different recovery strategies: directly selling their claims to exit, continuing to hold and wait for potential recovery, or providing liquidity to earn fees and incentives. The core of this mechanism is to establish a trading pool between crvUSD and the tokens of the affected claims, allowing bad debt claims to be priced in the market and creating liquidity, thereby providing users with an immediate exit channel instead of relying solely on the final liquidation results. It is reported that after the cryptocurrency market crash in October last year, some lending markets under Curve Finance experienced bad debt issues, with various liquidity pools being impacted by severe price fluctuations and liquidity contraction, leading to some deposit users facing withdrawal restrictions and asset losses.Curve stated that the recovery mechanism will not eliminate losses or guarantee recovery, but will gradually reflect risks and recovery expectations through a market-oriented approach. Additionally, if the governance layer distributes rewards through the veCRV incentive mechanism, it will help enhance liquidity depth, improve exit conditions, and strengthen market pricing efficiency.
