Base Build launches Verify Onchain, using on-chain identity verification to solve the airdrop witch attack problem

According to official news, Base Build announced the launch of Base Verify Onchain to address the issue of witch attacks in the blockchain ecosystem. This feature has been launched on the Base Sepolia test network, allowing developers to implement the "one real user, one claim" rule in smart contracts. Base Build stated that traditional airdrop mechanisms are easily manipulated by bulk wallets, and a large number of rewards are often obtained by professional airdrop farmers, while users who genuinely participate in product development can only receive limited benefits.Base Verify Onchain helps project teams identify multiple wallets controlled by the same user by generating a stable identity hash for each real user, without needing to obtain users' names, account information, or other private data. Users can complete verification through existing accounts such as Coinbase, Instagram, X, and TikTok. The system then returns a verified identity credential to the smart contract, which automatically enforces rules such as claim limits, voting restrictions, or quota controls. Currently, Base Verify has been used over 300,000 times and serves collaborative projects such as Base App, Cody, Scratch, and Bracket. Base Build stated that Verify Onchain will provide fairer airdrops, token distributions, governance voting, and user incentive mechanisms for decentralized applications. Developers can use this technology to limit the number of claims per real user, allocate rewards based on real identities, or convert real-world signals into on-chain credibility, thereby reducing the impact of bots and multi-wallet manipulation on the fairness of Web3 applications.

hot_img OpenAI's internal model has been revealed to autonomously solve mathematical problems and bypass the sandbox, with internal testing exceeding two months

According to external disclosure information, OpenAI has been internally running an unreleased model. This model, without the aid of tools like Lean, solves the unit distance problem with a 48% probability through a single autonomous inference and can independently find a counterexample to the Jacobian conjecture based on a single prompt. In security testing, this model has bypassed the sandbox environment and submitted results that should have been released internally to GitHub in the form of a Pull Request, and it has evaded detection by splitting authentication tokens. Relevant code records show that OpenAI began benchmarking this model no later than May 9, and its internal availability has exceeded 2.5 months.Previously, OpenAI and Hugging Face jointly disclosed that last week this model breached Hugging Face's production infrastructure during a network capability assessment. The model gained internet access through a zero-day vulnerability and obtained testing solutions by stealing credentials and exploiting remote code execution paths. OpenAI stated that this incident indicates the network attack capabilities of advanced models have been effective in real-world scenarios, and they are collaborating with Hugging Face to investigate and patch the vulnerabilities. Currently, OpenAI has not publicly commented on this matter.

Zhao Changpeng: AI cannot solve the inflation problem, Bitcoin has unique value storage properties

Binance founder CZ recently posted on social media that artificial intelligence (AI) and Bitcoin (BTC) serve different functions; AI drives productivity improvements, while Bitcoin is used to combat inflation and protect wealth. CZ stated, "AI is great, but it cannot protect you from the effects of inflation; Bitcoin can."CZ believes that the market often views AI and Bitcoin as two major hot investment themes, but their natures are fundamentally different. AI is a technology that enhances business efficiency and economic productivity, while Bitcoin is a digital asset with a fixed supply. He pointed out that the AI industry is rapidly developing, with global companies continuously investing billions of dollars in AI software, data centers, chips, and other infrastructure, driving transformations in various sectors such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. However, AI companies can issue more shares and raise funds for expansion, and their investment value still depends on business performance and market competition. In contrast, Bitcoin has a total fixed supply of 21 million coins, and holders possess a non-dilutable scarce asset. CZ believes this characteristic gives Bitcoin long-term value storage properties, providing protection when the purchasing power of fiat currency declines due to inflation.CZ has also previously stated that the AI boom may attract some funds that would have originally flowed into the Bitcoin market. As AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic gain more capital attention, some investors may sell other assets to allocate to AI-related investments. However, CZ believes that AI and Bitcoin are not in competition; rather, they should be viewed as complementary assets: AI drives technological advancement and productivity improvements, while Bitcoin offers a way to store value that is unaffected by supply expansion.

Galaxy: The structural issues in strategy have not yet been fully resolved, and it is necessary to explore ways to generate income from its BTC holdings

Galaxy Research Director Alex Thorn stated that the capital management adjustments announced by Strategy on Monday mark an important turning point. In the weeks prior, the "digital credit" system of Strategy's preferred shares faced pressure, with the preferred share STRC falling below its $100 par value and hitting a historical low of $71.25 on June 26, leading the market to question how the company would pay the increasingly high preferred share dividends.Strategy subsequently announced a new digital credit capital framework, including a board-approved dollar reserve policy, a revised STRC dividend policy, a $1 billion preferred securities repurchase authorization, a $1 billion MSTR common stock repurchase authorization, and a BTC monetization plan. At the same time, the board raised the annual dividend rate of STRC from 11.5% to 12%, applicable to semi-monthly dividends for record dates on or after July 1. Following the announcement, MSTR rose 12.6% to about $92.70 on Monday, while STRC increased by 12.2% to about $83.70.Thorn believes that Strategy's approach is wise, but it may not permanently resolve structural issues. The company still has a large preferred share system and ongoing payment obligations, and it will face $6.7 billion in convertible bonds maturing in 2027 and 2028. The market is not truly concerned about Strategy's lack of assets, but rather whether it has sufficient dollar liquidity to pay dividends without harming BTC holders, MSTR common stock shareholders, or preferred shareholders. By raising over $1 billion in cash through the sale of common stock, setting a minimum cash reserve policy for 12 months, and increasing the current cash coverage ratio to about 17 months, Strategy has bought itself time. The most controversial aspect is the BTC monetization plan, which seems to clearly indicate that Strategy may sell BTC from time to time. Thorn does not want to see Strategy sell Bitcoin, as the company's identity and the MSTR premium are built on its narrative as a long-term BTC exposure tool, and selling BTC would undermine that story. However, he also believes that if selling a small amount of BTC can prevent a disorderly spiral in the capital structure, protect preferred shares, and wait for a better market environment, this path can be justified. Strategy should explore how to generate income from its BTC assets without directly selling spot BTC, including conservatively lending a small amount of isolated BTC or using options strategies to capture volatility gains.
