According to The Defiant, Cole Villemain, the co-founder of the well-known NFT project Pudgy Penguins, who was voted out by the community, launched a series of 44,000 NFTs named Spritehood on Robinhood Chain on August 11, selling out in less than an hour.According to on-chain statistics of minting transactions by analyst 0xlaplaced, this sale generated approximately $1.2829 million (equivalent to about 684.28 ETH at the minting price), higher than the approximately $755,000 figure circulating during the sale, which was a snapshot taken while the sale was still ongoing. According to the statistics, the paid sale lasted about 53 minutes, during which 37,430 pieces were sold for $17 each, and 5,526 pieces were sold for $117 each. Before the paid sale began, the deploying party also distributed 1,488 pieces for free through 20 zero-price transactions.Reports indicate that the Spritehood contract itself is displayed as unverified source code on the Blockscout browser of Robinhood Chain, preventing buyers from reviewing the public code regarding its token pricing and distribution mechanism. Cole Villemain was voted out of the founding team by the Pudgy Penguins holder community in January 2022, accompanied by accusations of misappropriating project funds, but the related accusations have remained at the level of allegations, and Villemain has not been prosecuted as a result.

Tom Lee is optimistic about Robinhood Chain: it could be the most successful story in the crypto market this year

Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine and Co-founder of Fundstrat, stated that the blockchain project Robinhood Chain launched by Robinhood has become the "biggest success story" in the crypto industry for 2026, being a groundbreaking project in terms of cumulative trading volume, total value locked (TVL), and potential market size.Lee pointed out that the biggest advantage of Robinhood Chain lies in its massive user base. Robinhood (HOOD) is opening this service to its approximately 27 million users, which itself constitutes a huge potential market. Ethereum (ETH) has also been continuously developing in recent years, although its growth has been relatively low-key, gradually expanding its application scope mainly through stablecoin settlements and crypto payments and asset purchases on platforms like Shopify. He believes that directly connecting 27 million Robinhood users to the Ethereum economic system will have a significant impact on the crypto industry, likely further promoting the expansion of blockchain applications from native crypto users to mainstream financial users. The success of Robinhood Chain is not only reflected in its technological aspects but, more importantly, in its ability to connect traditional financial users, trading platforms, and the Ethereum ecosystem, potentially becoming an important case for the mainstream adoption of crypto assets.

Nansen founder: Bitcoin will never drop below $60,000 again, there are no signs of an end to the global monetary easing cycle

Nansen founder and CEO Alex Svanevik stated that Bitcoin's current price of around $60,000 may have marked the low point of this cycle. "Personally, I don't think Bitcoin will go below $60,000 again; I believe that's in the past, and I think it's forever." Alex Svanevik said this judgment is based on Bitcoin's positioning as a hedge against global central bank currency expansion, and he has not seen signs that the global monetary easing cycle is about to end. At the same time, the crypto industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation; crypto assets were previously in the toy world of blockchain and are now entering the real world era.In terms of the public chain ecosystem, Svanevik holds a long-term bullish view on Solana, stating that the perception of it as merely a meme coin chain is completely absurd. He believes Solana has "possibly the most effective BD team" and "an incredible team." However, Svanevik declined to translate this judgment into a specific price prediction for SOL—"Intuitively, I would think it will rise, but I can't be sure." Svanevik is also optimistic about the Robinhood chain, which just launched in July this year, believing it is rising as a strong competitor to Base due to its excellent user distribution capabilities. However, he judges that Robinhood is unlikely to issue a token—on one hand, it doesn't need to, and on the other hand, as a publicly traded company on NASDAQ, issuing a token would logically contradict competing with its own stock, "All value should be directed to HOOD stock."

first_img Data: The trading volume of Robinhood Chain DEX has dropped by 72% since its peak, but both the number of transactions and deposits have reached all-time highs

According to The Defiant, the DEX trading volume of Robinhood Chain peaked on July 11 and dropped by 72.5% by August 1, with daily trading volume decreasing from approximately $878 million to $241 million. During the same period, the number of transactions, total locked value, and stablecoin supply on the chain all reached historical highs. The global DEX trading volume share of the chain fell from a peak of 16.65% to 4.32% on August 2, while the overall DEX trading volume across the chain increased, indicating that this decline is a phenomenon specific to Robinhood Chain rather than a market-wide drop. The report states that on August 5, the number of transactions on the chain reached a historical high of 13.3 million, with total locked value reaching $433 million on August 6 and stablecoin supply reaching $597 million. However, the DEX trading volume per transaction dropped from $105.56 on July 13 to $27.82 on August 4, a decrease of 74%, indicating that while on-chain activity is more frequent, the value per transaction has significantly decreased. This divergence stems from the concentration of locked value in lending protocols like Morpho rather than DEX liquidity. Currently, there are 19 incentive activities on the chain that distribute approximately $58,000 daily, with 92% directed towards deposit users and only about $4,543 allocated for trading liquidity.
