first_img ARK partners with Securitize to tokenize venture capital funds, holdings include OpenAI and Anthropic

According to CoinDesk, asset management company ARK Invest announced a partnership with tokenization platform Securitize to tokenize its ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX), initially issuing it on Ethereum, with potential expansion to other blockchains in the future. The fund invests in private and public companies, with holdings including OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, and Databricks. ARK founder and CEO Cathie Wood stated that bringing the ARK Venture Fund on-chain is a natural extension of its mission to democratize investment in disruptive innovation.Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo stated that this move provides investors with diversified exposure to popular private tech companies, allowing them to hold both OpenAI and Anthropic simultaneously if they are uncertain about which will win the AI race. He also noted that tokenization does not put these companies or their shares on-chain; instead, investors receive an on-chain representation of the fund's equity, while the underlying assets remain private, but user investments are liquid. Securitize also plans to provide daily net asset values and support on-chain market trading of fund equity. This collaboration builds on the existing relationship between the two parties, as ARK made a strategic investment in Securitize last year. Currently, Wall Street asset management companies are accelerating the introduction of traditional financial products to the blockchain, with early attempts like BlackRock's BUIDL and Franklin Templeton's BENJI fund primarily focused on U.S. Treasury and money market products, now expanding into stocks and private markets.

first_img Raiffeisen partners with Bitpanda to provide cryptocurrency trading in 11 European markets

Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) announced a group-level collaboration with Bitpanda to expand its cryptocurrency asset layout. According to a joint announcement released by both parties on Wednesday, Bitpanda Enterprise will provide digital asset infrastructure for member banks within the RBI network to launch cryptocurrency services, potentially covering around 18 million customers. The announcement stated that each member bank will decide on the specific service content and launch pace based on local market conditions and regulatory requirements.RBI CEO Michael Höllerer stated that the demand for cryptocurrency assets in the markets where the group operates is continuously growing, thus the decision to collaborate with Bitpanda to address this. He mentioned that as a customer-centric bank, RBI is committed to meeting customer needs in the best possible way. Bitpanda indicated to Cointelegraph that this promotion is still in the early stages and will be gradually advanced based on local market and regulatory requirements, with further details to be announced once each market is confirmed. This collaboration builds on the cryptocurrency integration launched in 2024 with Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien in Austria. Bitpanda has obtained authorization under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and stated that it is regularly communicating with banks and financial institutions exploring cryptocurrency brokerage services, but declined to comment on ongoing or confidential negotiations.

first_img Visa partner Reap plans to launch a Mexican Peso stablecoin, exploring 24/7 on-chain foreign exchange

According to CoinDesk, Daren Guo, founder of Reap, a Hong Kong fintech platform and Visa partner, stated that Reap plans to add a Mexican peso stablecoin to its card, cross-border payment, and fund management products, and is exploring stablecoins for the Hong Kong dollar, euro, Korean won, and Japanese yen to support around-the-clock on-chain foreign exchange settlements and reduce cross-border costs.Reap is a major issuing member of Visa in Hong Kong and Mexico (VPIM), owned by Kraken's parent company Payward, and can issue cards on its own BIN, claiming to support partners in over 100 markets. Guo noted that while public blockchains continue to operate, global foreign exchange still relies on bank operating hours, correspondent banks, and settlements that can take several days. Transfer fees for some currency corridors in emerging and cross-border markets can reach 5% to 7%, while nearly 99% of current stablecoin payments are denominated in US dollars. The company is integrating stablecoin settlements into a broader product system that includes cards, cross-border payments, fund management, and compliance risk control. Reap stated that in the first half of 2026, card and payment volumes grew by 33% year-on-year, with revenue and transaction volume expected to double in 2025. Stephen Karpin, President of Visa Asia Pacific, stated that blockchain settlement should not be viewed as a replacement for traditional payment systems, but rather as a complementary relationship, with opportunities to reduce friction and maintain interoperability with the broader financial system.

Dragonfly Partner: Zcash currently still needs a development fund, but it should terminate after the protocol is solidified

Dragonfly Managing Partner Haseeb Qureshi commented on the controversy surrounding the Zcash development fund, stating that the Zcash community has positioned itself as "the crypto version of Bitcoin" and has refused to continue adding more features to the protocol. To become a reliable store of value, Zcash ultimately needs to achieve protocol finality, but it still needs to advance Tachyon, quantum resistance, and comprehensive formal verification required to address AI network attacks, making it unsuitable for finality in the next one to two years. The development fund has played a necessary role during the phase of lacking private funding to support Zcash development, and under current rules, it will expire in 2028. However, as the price of ZEC has surged significantly, the scale of the fund has expanded by an order of magnitude; once the fund exceeds 100 million dollars, it will inevitably move towards institutionalization and face the risk of the allocation mechanism being politicized. He advocates for the continued retention of the development fund at this stage to complete the remaining technical work before protocol finality, but this round should be the last round of the development fund. Once Zcash meets the conditions for finality, the fund should gradually wind down rather than continue seeking new funding projects; future development needs can be spontaneously funded by holders and ecosystem supporters, similar to Bitcoin. In terms of governance, Haseeb does not support voting solely by token holders, believing that a store of value asset requires policy predictability, and pure token governance is too volatile. He supports limited participation by holders and believes that committee governance, while flawed, may be a more feasible solution. Haseeb also disclosed that Dragonfly holds ZEC and that he himself is a ZODL investor, but ZODL will not directly benefit from the development fund.
