Ministry of State Security: The so-called anonymity of virtual currency is a false proposition

The Ministry of State Security's WeChat public account published an article titled "Is Virtual Currency Crime Untraceable? Think Again!" stating that virtual currency has become an important tool for criminals engaging in illegal activities. The associated risks include being a "hotbed" for money laundering crimes, a "shelter" for cyber attacks, and an "accomplice" for espionage and theft. The article argues that the so-called "anonymity" of virtual currency is fundamentally a false proposition. The article states that blockchain is open and transparent, on-chain data is immutable, and complete transaction records are preserved, which can provide a basis for full-chain traceability. Address anonymity is merely a temporary separation of wallet addresses from real identities, and fiat currency exchanges leave traces such as device codes and network IPs. The article summarizes this as examining the ledger, checking the chain, and discussing the private key: the entire transaction leaves traces, making it difficult to hide real identities; if the private key is kept by the individual, it cannot be recovered if lost, while if it is entrusted to a platform, there is a risk of platform bankruptcy or disappearance. The article also mentions that in February 2026, the People's Bank of China and several departments reiterated that Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and others should not and cannot be used as circulating currency, and related activities are classified as illegal financial activities, which are strictly prohibited. The article warns to be cautious of high-paying part-time jobs that settle in virtual currency and states that reports can be made through 12339, www.12339.gov.cn, the Ministry of State Security's WeChat public account, or local national security agencies.

first_img Liu Xing, the head of Doubao Public Relations: The layoff news is false

On September 24, the trending topic "Doubao employees lament that Doubao has become a marginal product" topped Weibo's hot search. Previously, media reported that the Doubao General Session team had undergone personnel reductions. Following the dissemination of related content, statements such as "Doubao layoffs" and "half of the dialogue team cut" appeared online, with some claiming that internal employees lamented that Doubao was being marginalized. In response to the above statements, Doubao's public relations head Liu Xing posted a response stating: Some media reported that the Doubao Session team underwent organizational adjustments, and some self-media interpreted it as Doubao layoffs and cutting half of the Doubao dialogue team, which is inaccurate information; in fact, it is merely an organizational adjustment of responsibilities.According to Liu Xing, part of the functions of the Doubao General Session team has been split into the Doubao trading and Doubao work teams, with relevant personnel being transferred accordingly. Many employees are still engaged in dialogue experience-related work, such as optimizing the trading dialogue experience on the trading side. The team has fewer than 50 people, and the adjustment of responsibilities involves 11 individuals, of which 3 have left. He emphasized that statements in some self-media reports, such as "Doubao layoffs affecting 200 million users" and "half of the dialogue team cut," are inaccurate.

first_img Meta's Muse AI assistant reads users' private information and falsely reports the method of access

Meta's personal AI assistant Muse has been accused of reading users' private iMessages without permission and providing false explanations about how it accesses this information. Technology columnist Jason Aten installed the assistant on his iPhone and Mac when Muse launched on September 8 and explicitly refused to grant it access to personal data such as information and calendars.A few days later, Muse sent Aten a notification suggesting he write a column about the new iPhone that he had just discussed with his podcast partner, also mentioning a deadline reminder from the editor. Aten asked Muse how it knew this, and it replied that the Mac application only forwards notification previews and does not involve the content of messages. In reality, Muse had synchronized over 187,000 records from the local private information database on the Mac, an operation that requires full disk access permissions on macOS.David Singleton, head of Meta's superintelligent lab, responded on Threads that this feature requires users to actively choose to opt-in. Aten denied ever turning on that switch and stated that Meta had not answered related questions. Amazon has banned Muse from shopping on its site, stating that the assistant did not indicate its AI identity while browsing and seemed capable of capturing and storing user credentials. Since its launch, Muse has been downloaded over 2.5 million times, with its promotion emphasizing user control over access.

first_img BitMart founder Sheldon responded to the employee accountability statement, claiming the content is false and will report to the police

BitMart founder Sheldon stated that regarding the public accountability statement released by a BitMart employee through the official Twitter account, he has completed the collection of evidence related to the content and claims that the information is all false. Sheldon indicated that he will report to the police during the day in the United States and send a lawyer's letter to the X platform, requesting technical and data evidence collection regarding the relevant content. Sheldon also stated that employee assets do not take precedence over customer assets, and everyone is a customer, with no privileges existing. Previously, BitMart employees publicly questioned the whereabouts of platform assets and related handling situations. Sheldon had previously stated that he would respond to the whereabouts of platform assets by the 19th.Blockchain investigator ZachXBT posted on the X platform questioning the BitMart exchange. In response to the relevant account, he stated that if BitMart indeed has sufficient liquidity, it should directly return the funds to all users instead of issuing vague statements. ZachXBT pointed out that BitMart's related actions have caused real users to be unable to use their funds normally, and there is insufficient transparency. This statement has raised market concerns about the safety of the exchange's funds and operational transparency.

Google's false encryption ads continue unabated, with a phishing site impersonating Uniswap stealing another $400,000

On-chain analyst "b-block" posted on social media on Monday that a counterfeit Uniswap website is stealing funds from multiple wallets, with assets held by the scammers valued at over $400,000. Stacy Muur, founder of the Web3 marketing agency Green Dots, shared screenshots of false sponsored results from search engines, criticizing Google for ignoring this issue for years, leading to fake links ranking above real ones, resulting in users continuously being scammed.According to Etherscan data, the two flagged addresses hold a total of about 146 ETH, valued at approximately $306,000. DeFiLlama pointed out that fake ads on Google are a common source of phishing attacks. The crypto nonprofit organization Security Alliance (SEAL) reported in April that phishing activities on Google searches significantly increased in March, with attackers deploying highly deceptive fake ads by paying for or hijacking legitimate ad accounts, using seemingly real URLs to bypass Google's automatic checks, and loading malicious payloads through hidden iframes.SEAL has blocked over 356 malicious ad links and stated that the volume of Google ads deployed by attackers has remained stable for over a year, with no slowdown in attack activities. Reports indicate that between March 13 and 30 alone, a total of $1.27 million was stolen. Additionally, earlier this month, there were malicious ad campaigns targeting Mac users that utilized Google ads and the AI chatbot Claude for shared chats. Malwarebytes also reported that Facebook is similarly a hotspot for fake ads and scams.
