Jensen Huang: The semiconductor industry may need to expand to ten times its current size in the next 10 years

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated in a Bloomberg podcast interview that South Korea is in a "golden era," and its semiconductor and industrial capabilities can help build AI infrastructure globally. NVIDIA has reached multiple collaborations with SK Group, and the scale of their future business exchanges in areas such as storage procurement, AI supercomputers, and data center construction will exceed $500 billion. NVIDIA will purchase a large number of storage chips from SK Hynix for several consecutive years and will work together to advance the technology roadmap from HBM2, HBM3, HBM3E, HBM4, HBM4E to subsequent products.Meanwhile, SK Telecom plans to expand its AI cloud infrastructure to a maximum of 2 gigawatts soon, and NVIDIA will sell supercomputers to it. The cooperation between the two parties includes both NVIDIA's procurement of storage and SK Group's procurement of AI infrastructure.Jensen Huang believes that as AI entities and robots begin to use computers on a large scale, chip demand will no longer be driven solely by human users. In the next approximately 10 years, the global semiconductor industry scale may need to expand to 10 times its current size. Currently, resources such as HBM storage, land, electricity, and data center construction are all under tight conditions; the industry may be capable of doubling its capacity each year, but faster expansion will be very difficult. The entire industry may be able to double its supply scale each year, but land, electricity, and factory space cannot expand as quickly as consumer electronics, so the construction of AI infrastructure may continue to progress at a limited pace over the next 10 years.Regarding the AI competition between China and the United States, Jensen Huang stated that both countries have excellent AI researchers. Although resources, conditions, and restrictions differ, both will continue to drive advancements in AI technology. The number of AI researchers trained in China each year may exceed the total in other regions of the world, and the United States still needs to continue learning, collaborating, and maintaining competition.

The U.S. Secret Service recovered over $25 million in cryptocurrency through five investigations

According to Bitcoin.com, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia and the U.S. Secret Service Washington Field Office announced that a cyber fraud task force has seized over $25 million in cryptocurrency as part of multiple investigations related to international fraud schemes targeting residents of the United States and Canada. The U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia has filed five civil forfeiture complaints seeking the forfeiture of the recovered cryptocurrency.Investigators have confirmed multiple money laundering networks and thousands of victims globally, with the largest complaint involving a romance scam affecting over 200 victims, totaling approximately $12.1 million. Another complaint involves a network of suspicious cryptocurrency wallets reported by Canadian authorities to the U.S. Secret Service, amounting to about $10.4 million.Agents tracked over 270 suspected victim transactions related to fraudulent investment platforms, with these two cases accounting for approximately 85% of the assets involved in the five forfeiture complaints. The remaining cases involve blocked withdrawals, fake investment accounts, and recovery of fraud. Investigators stated that most suspected money launderers are located in Southeast Asia and identified internet protocol addresses associated with China, Malaysia, and Cambodia; the five investigations are still ongoing.

Liang Wenfeng is dissatisfied with the leak of the 4-hour internal speech, and DeepSeek announced the suspension of the second round of financing

According to Bloomberg, DeepSeek announced the suspension of its second round of financing and verbally notified some potential investors that it would not sign investment agreements as expected. This suspension partly stems from founder Liang Wenfeng's dissatisfaction with the leak of a 4-hour internal transcript during its first financing deal, where he made 52 statements in an investor meeting regarding DeepSeek's organizational culture, open-source logic, technology roadmap, and views on the competitive landscape of the industry. The nearly 4-hour meeting record recently went viral on social media, including statements such as "The biggest gap between China and the U.S. in AI is computing power resources." Both DeepSeek and Liang Wenfeng have not confirmed the authenticity of the leaked record.DeepSeek stated that it may still choose to resume the transaction process in the future and has begun preparations for an initial public offering, with the IPO potentially being filed as early as this year.DeepSeek completed its first round of external financing in June 2026, raising over 50 billion yuan, approximately 7.4 billion dollars, with a post-investment valuation of about 50-59 billion dollars. It adopted a special structure, with most funds entering a limited partnership managed by Liang Wenfeng, where investors have no voting rights and are locked in for 5 years. Liang Wenfeng himself contributed about 20 billion yuan as the largest contributor, with participation from Tencent, CATL, JD.com, NetEase, and the Chinese National AI Fund. DeepSeek subsequently initiated discussions for its second round of financing in mid-July, targeting a valuation of about 71 billion dollars.
