first_img Goldman Sachs $100 billion Treasury Fund FTIXX connects to Lynq network

Goldman Sachs has connected its approximately $100 billion government bond fund FTIXX to the digital asset settlement network Lynq, providing a new subscription channel for institutional-level crypto companies. The fund will be listed on Lynq, with trading handled by tZERO Securities, a broker-dealer registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This is the first external fund introduced to the Lynq network, which previously only had a single investment product.Unlike most blockchain-based fund products on Wall Street, FTIXX has not been tokenized. BlackRock's BUIDL is a tokenized fund, and Franklin Templeton offers tokenized shares of money market funds through BENJI, while Goldman Sachs retains the traditional fund format of FTIXX, with Lynq opening new access channels for digital asset companies. Lynq CEO Jerald David stated that there is a convergence occurring between traditional market participants and digital asset market participants. For institutions using Lynq, FTIXX provides a place to store cash and earn returns during trading gaps, redeemable when needed. David mentioned that clients have been looking for government bond assets on the platform that offer yields different from existing tools. Lynq's partners include B2C2, Wintermute, Galaxy, FalconX, Crypto.com, and Fireblocks. The network operates on a private permissioned Avalanche Layer 1 blockchain and has connected over 30 institutional digital asset companies, with assets exceeding $89 million.

first_img Breez SDK launched stablecoin payment functionality, supporting over 30 networks

According to Bitcoin Magazine, Bitcoin software provider Breez announced that applications built on its Breez SDK now support users receiving stablecoin payments from over 30 networks using their Bitcoin balance.Breez stated that after the recipient selects the network and amount of the payer, the SDK generates a deposit address and displays the amount received, while the payer pays from their wallet as usual; Flashnet completes the exchange in the background, and the funds ultimately enter the recipient's non-custodial wallet in the form of Bitcoin, or in the form of USD if the stable balance feature is used.In June of this year, Breez launched the ability to send USDT/USDC, allowing a single Breez-powered balance to transfer stablecoins bi-directionally across almost all networks. This update is the latest in a series of usability upgrades, following the rollout of features such as Passkey login, Cash App instant account opening, and stable balance. Breez also launched a reference application called Glow in August to showcase the capabilities of the SDK.The Breez SDK is a developer toolkit that allows applications to add Bitcoin payments without having to build their own payment infrastructure, covering wallet creation, sending and receiving, and Lightning Network payments. Developers can provide Bitcoin functionality with minimal code, without needing to run nodes or manage liquidity. In July of this year, Breez announced a partnership with Turnkey, allowing developers to add non-custodial Bitcoin support to wallet applications running on their own servers.

Bitget CEO live-streamed a response to the platform's first security incident in eight years: the attack originated from a vulnerability in a third-party security product, and the losses will be covered by the user protection fund

In today's community live broadcast, Bitget CEO Gracy responded to recent security incidents and the platform's financial status. She candidly stated that this is the first security incident encountered since Bitget was established 8 years ago. After a complete trace, it was found that hackers exploited vulnerabilities in third-party security products to steal internal network access credentials, forged withdrawal commands to the wallet system, and deceived the wallet into executing abnormal transfers that bypassed risk checks. Gracy emphasized that no private keys were leaked, and cold wallets were unaffected; specific technical details will be disclosed in the formally released security report.Gracy pointed out that the verified losses from this incident are within the coverage of the protection fund, and user funds are not affected. The platform's own funds exceed $1.4 billion, which includes approximately $464 million in the user protection fund. The platform will continue to uphold the security commitments made when the protection fund was established in 2022, planning to replenish the fund to the baseline of $300 million within a week."The protection fund is not just a slogan, but an important mechanism that provides tangible security for users in the event of extreme security incidents," Gracy stated. In the face of sudden security challenges, the platform's comprehensive strength and its ability to take responsibility are important criteria for measuring its risk response capability and long-term credibility. Bitget will continue to uphold its long-term commitment to prioritize user interests.

Goldman Sachs: Korean retail investors are flowing funds into cryptocurrency, and KOSPI's upward movement relies more on foreign investment

Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research Department's South Korea stock analyst Chris Cha stated in a report on September 23 that KOSPI has the conditions for a short-term tactical breakout, but the continuous flow of liquidity from South Korean retail investors into the cryptocurrency market will make the index's subsequent upward movement more reliant on foreign capital and local institutions reconfiguring. The report noted that concerns about the Federal Reserve's interest rates have been partially digested by the market, and risk appetite has shifted towards proxy AI themes. The report pointed out that South Korean memory chips provide fundamental support, with fourth-quarter DRAM contract prices expected to grow double digits quarter-on-quarter, and the ramp-up of HBM4 capacity will continue to limit the supply of standard server DRAM. Samsung Electronics' large shareholder returns, continuous buying by institutions, and foreign capital turning into net buying may drive KOSPI towards the resistance zone of 7000 to 7200 points. The report also indicated that the capacity of local South Korean retail investors to absorb has weakened. After Bitcoin returned to $85,000, cryptocurrency trading in South Korea has heated up. According to DefiLlama data cited in the report, Upbit's single-day spot trading volume on June 13 was approximately $770 million, which rose to $1.817 billion on September 22, an increase of about 136%. Based on the total trading volume of $3.27 billion on that day across South Korea's five major trading platforms, Upbit alone accounted for over half. Goldman Sachs believes this will make KOSPI more reliant on foreign and institutional buying in the future, and October is a critical window to test whether foreign capital will continue to increase its investment in South Korean semiconductor and AI assets.

DyorSwap: The previously identified "GIWA Mainnet" is actually a fake chain built by scammers, and compensation for affected users will be provided through treasury funds

DyorSwap officially announced that the so-called "GIWA Mainnet" identified by the team earlier is actually a fake chain set up by scammers. This fake network used the correct GIWA chain ID (9134), making it appear legitimate during the initial verification phase. The team also identified several suspicious messages and individuals within the related community that may be connected to this incident. The announcement stated that significant losses have occurred due to this fraudulent cross-chain bridge.DyorSwap stated that it is taking three immediate actions: first, contacting a professional security team to conduct further on-chain tracking and investigate the involved addresses, transactions, and fund flows; second, preserving all relevant evidence, including chat records, RPC information, cross-chain bridge addresses, and on-chain transactions; third, preparing to use treasury funds to compensate affected users, with eligibility criteria, loss verification processes, compensation scope, and detailed plans to be announced after the investigation and verification processes are completed.DyorSwap emphasized that until further notice, users should not use any unofficial GIWA mainnet RPCs, cross-chain bridges, or contracts, and should not send funds to any related addresses. The official team deeply apologizes to every affected user in this incident and states that subsequent updates will be released as soon as possible.

Cosmos Hub: 1.227 million ATOM has been recovered from the Neutron attack case, with funds temporarily stored at a 4/6 multi-signature address

Cosmos Labs disclosed that on September 22, Neutron encountered a governance attack that led to the theft of liquidity from protocols such as Astroport, with approximately 1.73 million ATOM subsequently transferred by the attacker to Cosmos Hub. The Cosmos Hub itself was not attacked, and user funds were not affected. To prevent the stolen ATOM from being transferred out, Hub validators temporarily paused the network for about 24.5 hours and resumed block production on September 23 based on the patched Gaia v28.3.0.Cosmos Labs stated that during the pause, 1.227 million ATOM remained in the attacker's Hub address. When the network was restored, these were transferred to a 4/6 multi-signature address composed of Nansen, Keplr, Enigma, Silknodes, Kiln, and Polkachu through a one-time change. Previously, about 500,000 ATOM had been exchanged for ETH via THORChain and could not be recovered; another 169,000 ATOM entered the attacker's address after the network was restored due to THORChain refunds and were sold after being transferred to Osmosis. The current multi-signature address holds approximately 1.227 million ATOM, which can only be returned after authorization from a Cosmos Hub governance proposal. The related funds will not be staked, lent, or traded. The Neutron team expects to submit a recovery plan and related governance proposals next week.

Circle Foundation: Exploring stablecoin payments for humanitarian assistance, providing funding to the United Nations Development Programme and the World Food Programme

The Circle Foundation announced two grants to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Food Programme (WFP) to explore the application of digital payments and digital financial infrastructure in humanitarian aid and development projects. The Circle Foundation stated that the relevant programs will study how to utilize digital payments and regulated payment-type stablecoins to disburse funds to aid recipients more quickly, transparently, and at a lower cost. For the UNDP, the grant will be used to establish and operate a "Digital Asset Innovation Pool," helping country offices expand previous digital payment pilot projects conducted in Syria, Haiti, Guatemala, and Gambia from single projects to regular project execution, and provide support such as regulation, operations, and beneficiary protection; this mechanism will not replace traditional banking channels but will serve as a complementary option outside the existing payment system. For the WFP, the grant will support the establishment of governance, risk management, funding, reconciliation systems, and compliance tools necessary for stablecoin payments, and integrate local fintech and mobile payment services. Over the next three years, the WFP plans to test 2 to 3 payment channels connecting its payment system with local financial service providers and markets to assess the performance of stablecoin payments in terms of efficiency, transparency, and resilience.
