first_img JPMorgan Chase Q2 disclosed an increase in holdings of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, re-entered XRP, and established a new position in Solana

According to Coinpedia, JPMorgan, with an asset management scale of approximately $5.1 trillion, submitted its Q2 13F filing to the SEC, showing significant adjustments in its crypto-related ETF holdings. In terms of Bitcoin, the bank held approximately 10.4 million shares of BlackRock's IBIT as of June 30, valued at about $355.7 million, up from about 8.3 million shares and nearly $162 million in Q1; the number of IBIT call options increased to about 3.94 million, while put options decreased from about 4.75 million to about 3.5 million.Regarding Ethereum, JPMorgan held nearly 1.17 million shares of BlackRock's ETHA, valued at approximately $14.3 million, a significant increase of 338% compared to the previous quarter, but the value of Bitcoin positions still exceeds that of ETHA by more than twenty times. For XRP, after the related positions were reduced to zero in Q1, the bank re-established its holdings, holding small shares of Bitwise XRP ETF and Grayscale XRP Trust ETF, as well as approximately 19,900 shares of Armada Acquisition Corp II related to Ripple-supported trading, valued at about $207,000.In addition, the filing also showed that JPMorgan established a new position in Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, holding about 47,500 shares. The article also mentioned that there has been a recent net outflow from the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, with the next 13F covering Q3 expected to be disclosed in November.

The expansion of AI data centers has spurred new financing models, with EdgeConneX seeking a $2.5 billion power guarantee

According to Bloomberg, EdgeConneX Inc., a data center operator supported by EQT, is seeking banks to provide a power cost guarantee of up to $2.5 billion to support its global data center expansion plans.EdgeConneX is negotiating a letter of credit financing arrangement with several banks, including France's Natixis and Spain's BBVA. This arrangement will help the company lock in power supply costs for its data center projects. With the rapid growth in demand for artificial intelligence training and inference, global data center construction has entered an accelerated phase, and operators are exploring new financing tools to cope with rising power procurement costs and infrastructure investment needs. EdgeConneX's request for bank support reflects that AI infrastructure companies are shifting from traditional real estate and equipment financing models to establishing new financing structures around energy supply, long-term power contracts, and other assets. In recent years, major cloud computing companies and AI infrastructure firms have increased their investments in data centers, while power supply has become a significant bottleneck constraining the expansion of AI computing power. Securing future power costs through bank credit support is becoming a new way for data center operators to obtain expansion funding.

BNB Chain will launch the Pasteur hard fork on August 25

BNB Smart Chain (BSC) announced that the Pasteur hard fork will officially launch on the mainnet at 10:30 AM Beijing time on August 25 (02:30 UTC on August 25). Node operators need to upgrade to client version v1.7.7 in advance. This upgrade includes three improvements: BEP-682, BEP-695, and BEP-675, focusing on enhancing cross-chain security, validator governance mechanisms, and network throughput capacity.Among them, BEP-682 will strengthen the cross-chain bridge validation mechanism of the BNB Chain, preventing the risk of permission bypass caused by duplicate calculations of validator signatures, thus improving the security of cross-chain asset transfers. BEP-695 optimizes the validator key rotation mechanism, ensuring that old keys no longer retain management permissions after exiting, while also fixing potential vulnerabilities related to penalties and governance voting. In terms of performance, BEP-675 reduces the time consumption caused by validators repeatedly executing transactions by optimizing the block construction process. In the internal QANet testing environment of the BNB Chain, this solution increased throughput from 1237 TPS to 2324 TPS, while maintaining a block time of 450 milliseconds and a block limit of 100 million Gas, with the average Gas usage per block rising from 46.35 million to 84.15 million.BNB Chain stated that this upgrade is primarily aimed at validators and block builders, intending to provide greater capacity during network peak periods and to promote the throughput expansion goals outlined in the BNB Chain roadmap for the second half of 2026.
