SharpLink CEO: AI agents will reconstruct the financial system, potentially creating $40 trillion in value annually by 2035

SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom stated that as AI agents integrate with stablecoins, tokenization of real-world assets, and DeFi, the global financial services industry will face a revenue redistribution of over $1 trillion annually by 2030, potentially reaching $4 trillion by 2035.Chalom indicated that AI agents will become the automation layer of the new financial system, capable of continuously managing investors' financial activities, including finding lower banking, trading, and borrowing costs, optimizing savings returns, constructing portfolios, dynamic rebalancing, and managing loans and credit card debt. He anticipates that by 2030, AI agents could save investors about $350 billion annually by reducing fees, with this figure increasing to $1.4 trillion by 2035, equivalent to eliminating nearly a quarter of the costs in the global financial industry.Stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, and DeFi will provide AI agents with 24/7 programmable financial infrastructure, enabling agents to view asset ownership, prices, collateral requirements, and lending opportunities within the same blockchain environment, and autonomously complete asset transfers, collateralization, lending, and settlement. He also mentioned that financial institutions including Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, PayPal, Circle, Tether, Robinhood, Coinbase, Binance, as well as JPMorgan, Citigroup, and BlackRock are competing for the infrastructure and user entry points of the AI agent financial ecosystem. Whoever controls the infrastructure and agents may capture the value generated when agents trade on behalf of clients.Additionally, Chalom pointed out that the infrastructure such as the x402 machine-to-machine stablecoin payment standard launched by Coinbase and Ethereum's ERC-8004 agent identity protocol is forming a new open agent economy. More than 10,000 AI agents have completed registration within 10 weeks of the ERC-8004 going live.

Sharplink expands ETH treasury strategy, investing 200 million USD in ETH staking with Lido

According to GlobeNewswire, Sharplink (Nasdaq: SBET), an Ethereum treasury company, announced that it will stake $200 million worth of ETH through Lido, the largest liquid staking protocol on Ethereum, to enhance the yield capability of the company's ETH assets. Sharplink stated that after this staking, the company will receive wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) representing the staked ETH and its yields, which will be custodied by institutional-grade digital asset custodian Anchorage Digital. This configuration will further expand Sharplink's existing ETH staking and restaking strategies. Lido is currently one of the largest liquid staking protocols on Ethereum, with approximately $16.5 billion staked on the platform. Its wstETH token has been integrated by over 100 protocols, with about $10 billion used as collateral in DeFi. While users hold wstETH, the underlying ETH continues to earn staking rewards and can be used within the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem.Sharplink CEO Joseph Chalom stated that the introduction of Lido will further enhance the production efficiency of the company's ETH assets, leveraging the composability of wstETH while maintaining institutional-grade risk management standards. This collaboration will diversify the company's treasury strategy and connect to one of the most liquid and widely used assets in the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem. Vasiliy Shapovalov, Executive Director of Lido Labs Foundation, stated that Sharplink's increased use of Ethereum's native staking protocol and DeFi ecosystem reflects support for the Ethereum application ecosystem.

H100 increased its holdings by over 2455 BTC, Bitdeer and Sharplink disclosed their second-quarter financial reports

According to BBX data, global listed companies disclosed the following core dynamics regarding cryptocurrency asset allocation and the latest financial performance yesterday:Sweden's H100 treasury increased by 2455.4 bitcoins: The Swedish bitcoin treasury company H100 disclosed that its total bitcoin holdings have significantly increased to 3506 BTC, adding 2455.4 BTC. The official statement indicated that this large increase in holdings was due to a corporate acquisition completed in April this year (the acquisition target was NSDAS), and the newly added bitcoins were obtained directly through this merger transaction.Bitdeer released its Q2 financial report, with total revenue reaching $228.8 million: Bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure company Bitdeer (Nasdaq: BTDR) officially released its Q2 2026 financial report. The data shows that its total revenue for Q2 reached $228.8 million (a year-on-year increase of 47%); adjusted EBITDA was $31.1 million (a year-on-year increase of approximately 576%). In terms of profit, the gross loss for Q2 was $8.5 million (compared to a gross profit of $12 million in the same period last year), with a net loss of $92.28 million; as of June 30, its total cash and restricted cash amounted to approximately $496.3 million.Sharplink recorded $11.16 million in staking revenue for Q2: Ethereum treasury company Sharplink (Nasdaq: SBET) released its Q2 2026 financial report. The company's total revenue reached $11.53 million, achieving significant year-on-year growth, with the core contribution coming from $11.16 million in staking revenue. Affected by fluctuations in the cryptocurrency market, the company reported a net loss of $394.3 million (mainly consisting of a non-cash loss of $321 million in ETH and a provision for impairment of $76.09 million in Ls ETH/we ETH). The company emphasized that the above are all non-cash accounting losses and do not affect the actual ETH holdings. As of June 30, its total cryptocurrency assets were valued at approximately $1.416 billion, with a cash balance of $56.2 million.

first_img SharpLink opposes Ethereum EIP-8363, stating that zero returns will undermine the core reason for institutions to choose ETH

Joseph Chalom, CEO of the Ethereum treasury company SharpLink, posted in opposition to Ethereum Improvement Proposal EIP-8363. According to his disclosure, the current network issues new ETH to validators as staking rewards at a variable yield rate of about 2.75%. If the proposal is passed, it will be implemented in phases over approximately a year and a half, gradually destroying part of the issuance rewards as the staking amount increases. When about 50% of ETH is staked, the staking yield will drop to 0%, and validators will only be able to rely on transaction fees, which currently account for only 15% of staking rewards, to sustain themselves.Chalom presented four points of opposition:Staking yield is the factual benchmark for all on-chain interest rates. The approximately $35 billion TVL of liquid staking tokens is the core collateral for on-chain lending. A yield of zero will raise on-chain capital costs, making actual yields approach or even become negative. Collateral will migrate to assets that still generate yields, and independent stakers and small to medium operators will be the first to be squeezed out.The native yield characteristic is precisely the key reason institutions choose ETH over Bitcoin. Erasing this difference is equivalent to voluntarily giving up its competitive advantage just as ETH is outperforming Bitcoin.Issuance is not a cost to external parties but a transfer of value to security maintainers and builders within the network. Destroying it is a destruction of value rather than a redistribution of this portion of value. The current timing is the worst; Ethereum is in a rising phase of institutional adoption, and destruction incentives will suppress this wave of adoption momentum. He stated that SharpLink agrees with the proposal authors' goal of making ETH scarce and stabilizing the staking rate at a reasonable level, but believes this should be achieved through the existing base fee destruction mechanism rather than altering the economic foundation of the protocol.
