first_img Arkham: Bitmine ETH holdings are approaching the 5% target, and after reaching the target, it is most likely to slow down buying rather than stop

According to Arkham Research, Bitmine, the world's largest Ethereum treasury company, currently holds approximately 5.81 million ETH, valued at nearly $11 billion. After 14 months of continuous accumulation, its holdings have reached 4.8% of the ETH supply, achieving about 96% of its publicly set acquisition target of 5%. Unlike Bitcoin treasury companies such as Strategy, Bitmine has used over 5 million ETH for staking to earn interest, with an annualized staking income estimated at approximately $257 million based on a yield of about 2.63%.According to Arkham's analysis, the most likely scenario for the trajectory after reaching the 5% target is that Bitmine will slow down its purchases. On-chain data shows that its acquisition pace has already slowed this year, and after surpassing 5%, it may shift towards balance sheet management and maximizing staking returns. The second most likely scenario is to continue buying at the same pace. Considering that Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat, who leads this strategy, has consistently been bullish, it is possible that they will continue to increase their holdings after breaking through 5%. The least likely scenario is to completely stop buying. If this largest enterprise-level ETH buyer in the market exits the demand side, it may temporarily weaken bullish sentiment, but even without new additions, its staking holdings will still grow passively through network rewards.

Chinese-American crypto investor Harry Yeh fell from a 30-story building in Paraguay, and the police are investigating the cause of death

According to La Tribuna, the body of a Chinese man was found outside the Jade Park high-rise apartment in the Trinidad district of Asunción, Paraguay. Preliminary identification confirmed the identity as Harry Chun Tak Yeh, the founder and managing partner of Quantum Fintech Group. The police stated that he is suspected to have fallen from the 30th floor of the building, and his body was found completely naked and covered with a black plastic bag. Investigators found the apartment door on the 30th floor ajar, with the interior in disarray, and confirmed that he also owned another apartment on the 27th floor of the same building. Criminal technicians have collected evidence outside the building and from both apartments, and relevant physical evidence has been handed over to the prosecution. The prosecution is currently investigating multiple possibilities, including accident, suspected suicide, and homicide, while the judicial department will determine the specific cause of death and the circumstances through an autopsy. It is reported that Chinese-American cryptocurrency investor Harry Yeh entered the Bitcoin market in 2013 when the BTC trading price was $60. He launched his first fund with $250,000, and his investment network claims to manage over $2.4 billion in assets, closely linked with Fantom, Tomb Finance, Lif3, ZooCoin, L3 USD, and L3 Reserve.

Starknet completes quantum-resistant signature transfer testing, exploring wallet upgrade paths that do not require migration

Starknet announced that it has completed the quantum-resistant signature transfer test, where a wallet account using a quantum-resistant signature mechanism completed a real transfer on the Starknet mainnet, with a transaction fee of about 6 cents, and can be queried through the block explorer. This account is currently an experimental, unaudited version, mainly used for research testing. StarkWare stated that this transfer benefits from the design of the Starknet account model.Unlike most blockchains that fix the signature algorithm at the protocol layer, each account on Starknet is a smart contract that can autonomously define the accepted signature schemes, allowing users to upgrade their wallets from traditional elliptic curve signatures to quantum-resistant signatures without hard forks, asset migrations, or changing addresses. StarkWare pointed out that most blockchains face quantum computing risks because wallet signatures and underlying verification systems rely on elliptic curve cryptography. Once large-scale quantum computers appear, running Shor's algorithm could potentially break the related encryption systems. Currently, the Starknet ecosystem supports a quantum-resistant signature scheme based on Falcon-512, which is part of the NIST post-quantum cryptography standardization process, with relevant implementations promoted by ecosystem teams and organizations such as OpenZeppelin.

first_img The death of Ondo Finance's founder has sparked a power struggle, with his mother suing the current CEO

According to CoinDesk, the tokenized asset company Ondo Finance is embroiled in a corporate control dispute following the death of founder Nathan Allman this year. The estate has filed a lawsuit in the Delaware Chancery Court, accusing former president and current CEO Ian De Bode of improperly attempting to seize control of the company while the estate certification process is not yet complete and the company's voting rights are temporarily suspended. The three legal documents request the judge to determine who legally controls Ondo Finance and to prohibit the company from taking significant actions until the governance dispute is resolved.According to the complaint, Nathan Allman was the CEO, sole director, and controlling shareholder of Ondo at the time of his death, and his voting rights could not be exercised until his mother, Kathleen Allman, was formally appointed as the estate representative through the Hawaiian probate process on June 26. The estate alleges that De Bode claimed to automatically become CEO and appointed himself as the sole director before this, taking actions such as hiring consultants and approving performance grants. After obtaining the voting rights, Kathleen Allman voted to remove De Bode from all positions and appointed herself as chairwoman and interim CEO during the board meeting on July 24. De Bode responded that he regretted the lawsuit filed by Allman, stating that her claims lack basis, and that the company still has the support of major investors and key stakeholders such as the Ondo Foundation. The court has not yet ruled on the related allegations, and the aforementioned documents only reflect the statements of the estate.
