Gate Pre-IPOs Phase III launches Moonshot AI (KIMI), pioneering a dedicated trading market mechanism

According to the official announcement, the third phase of Gate Pre-IPOs will launch Moonshot AI (KIMI) and introduce a dedicated trading market mechanism for Pre-IPOs, providing exclusive trading and circulation channels for pre-listing asset certificates. The KIMI asset certificate is a mirror note designed based on the changes in the enterprise value of Moonshot AI. The subscription period is from August 11, 2026, 15:00 to August 13, 2026, 15:00 (UTC+8), allowing users to participate using both USDT and GUSD. After the subscription ends, the asset certificates will be 100% unlocked and issued on August 17, 2026, at 15:00 (UTC+8).It is worth noting that, unlike previous participation methods in Pre-IPOs, this phase of KIMI asset certificates is expected to open a dedicated market for trading about one month after the completion of subscription and distribution. Users holding positions can trade and circulate based on real-time market prices, choose to sell part of their holdings to recover principal, or continue to hold the remaining assets to participate in the future value changes of the target enterprise. The holding period for the profit portion is expected to range from several months to several years, depending on the target enterprise's IPO process or other exit arrangements; if the target enterprise completes an IPO in the future, the platform will provide subsequent asset handling solutions based on actual conditions, including stock asset exchange or stock token exchange methods.

hot_img The Dark Side of the Moon launches a $50 billion Pre-IPO round of financing, with the quota "suddenly in short supply" after K3 is released

According to exclusive reports from the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, Moonshot AI's G round (Pre-IPO) financing has officially started, with this round's valuation reaching $50 billion. Insiders revealed that the financing amount became "suddenly tight" after the release of the K3 model, and multiple institutions have registered their investment intentions. Participants must complete their payments by August 15, and if they want to directly enter the shareholder register, their management scale must exceed $500 million. The company's previous F round financing (valuation of $35 billion) was just completed last week, raising a total of $3.5 billion. In April of this year, the company's valuation was approximately $18 billion, nearly tripling within three months.Sources say that the core driver behind this round's valuation surge is the release of the K3 model. On July 27, Moonshot AI officially open-sourced the complete model weights of Kimi K3, becoming the world's first large model with 30 trillion parameters to be implemented. Currently, the company's API revenue accounts for more than 70% of total revenue, with ARR achieving several times growth after the K3 release. In response to recent reports stating "the IPO application will be submitted to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as early as this month," insiders stated that "the information is inaccurate, and the G round financing is still ongoing." As of the time of publication, Moonshot AI has not responded to this news.

Ontario teachers' pension fund bets on SpaceX, with post-IPO holdings potentially soaring to $11.6 billion

According to Forbes, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan in Canada is expected to gain substantial returns from the SpaceX IPO. The fund invested approximately $220 million in SpaceX in 2019 when the company's valuation was around $33 billion to $36 billion. If SpaceX goes public as planned at $135 per share, with an estimated valuation of about $1.75 trillion, the shares held by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan would rise to approximately $11.6 billion, with potential paper gains exceeding $11 billion. As of the end of 2025, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan manages assets of about $279.4 billion, covering 346,000 active and retired teachers. The fund's Chief Investment Officer Gillian Brown previously stated that an IPO does not necessarily mean an exit point, and they may continue to hold shares in the future to see if SpaceX can initiate a new growth cycle after acquiring xAI. Notably, the fund had invested about $95 million in FTX in 2022 and wrote down that investment to zero after FTX's bankruptcy. However, benefiting from strong performances from projects like SpaceX, its venture capital portfolio is still expected to achieve a 30% growth by 2025.Currently, some institutions are cautious about SpaceX's valuation. Morningstar believes its fair valuation is less than half of the IPO target. Based on a $1.75 trillion valuation, Elon Musk's wealth, holding about 41% of the shares, is expected to rise further, potentially making him the world's first trillionaire.
