Crypto KOL Big Lion from Australia claims that Binance was hacked for over 18,000 BTC, making it difficult to liquidate in the short term
The cryptocurrency KOL Australian Lion Brother posted on platform X, stating that there are fewer and fewer mixing channels capable of handling large amounts of funds in Bitcoin today. Most centralized exchanges also require strict KYC and will cooperate in freezing funds. Additionally, on-chain tracking is becoming increasingly mature, making it significantly more difficult for hackers to transfer and cash out stolen funds.
Australian Lion Brother mentioned that the 18,270 BTC (worth about 1.4 billion USD) stolen from Binance would be very slow to launder, even if it could be washed, and would likely require a significant discount. The risk of being intercepted along the way is also higher, and it may not become a force to crash the market in the short term. Binance co-founder He Yi replied to the tweet, stating, "We will pursue it to the end."
