U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal investigates the relationship between Cantor Fitzgerald and Tether

Senior Democratic member of the U.S. Senate investigators, Senator Richard Blumenthal, is continuing to investigate the financial relationship of the stablecoin issuer Tether and has written to Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Brandon Lutnick, requesting information regarding the relationship between the two companies.

Brandon Lutnick is the son of U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. After Howard Lutnick joined President Donald Trump's administration, Brandon Lutnick took over his leadership role at Cantor Fitzgerald. Cantor Fitzgerald holds and manages Tether's reserve assets in the U.S., and there are several other business interests between the two parties.
