Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission: The sub-law for virtual assets is expected to be implemented in the first quarter of next year

2026-09-03 15:31:32

Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission Chairman Peng Jinlong stated that the "Virtual Asset Service Act" was passed on June 30 of this year after three readings. The Financial Supervisory Commission is currently formulating nine subsidiary regulations, covering stablecoin-related specifications, which are expected to be announced and implemented in the first quarter of next year.

With the development of technologies such as AI and blockchain, Taiwan and global financial markets are moving towards a parallel track of traditional finance, digital finance, and blockchain finance. The demand for cross-border payments, trade financing, and capital allocation in the semiconductor supply chain is heating up, and stablecoins, blockchain, and financial technology are seen as new infrastructure supporting cross-border capital flows.
