Bitdeer invests 100 million dollars to acquire 200 acres of land in Texas
According to TheEnergyMag, Nasdaq-listed Bitdeer Technologies Group (stock code: BTDR) announced that it has acquired approximately 200 acres of undeveloped land in Milam County, Texas, for about $100 million in an all-cash transaction. This parcel is adjacent to its existing Rockdale operational area and will support the development of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure. This transaction is a complete ownership acquisition, eliminating the risk of lease renewals and providing site control assurance for the company's financing and development of high-density data centers.
After the transaction is completed, Bitdeer's total land area in central Milam County will expand to approximately 255 acres. This parcel is located in an area with a well-developed power interconnection network, currently having about 563 megawatts of grid-connected power capacity, which will increase to 742 megawatts after the expansion plan is completed. The company stated that the new parcel will be used to build dedicated AI/HPC data centers, while not affecting the operation of its existing Bitcoin mining business. After this expansion, Bitdeer's global power capacity pipeline in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa will total approximately 3.0 gigawatts.
