Chairman of SK Group: South Korea needs to transform into an "AI-native" country
SK Hynix's leader, Choi Tae-won, stated that South Korea must become an "AI-native country," adding, "The goal is for everyone to have at least one AI agent." He said, "If this goal is achieved, South Korea will become a global AI testing ground, allowing various AI technologies to be experimented with and applied here."
Choi Tae-won mentioned that SK Group will provide more opportunities for AI development through continuous R&D investment. He also emphasized that reducing AI costs is crucial. He stated, "Currently, AI costs are too high." "We must find various ways to lower costs so that more people around the world can enjoy the benefits brought by AI."
Choi Tae-won indicated that South Korea can lower AI costs by expanding the production scale of memory chips and building more AI data centers, creating a global AI data center hub that connects the United States, Europe, and Asia.
