Senator Lummis leads the Republicans in calling for a relaxation of Basel's capital penalties on crypto assets
According to CoinDesk, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, along with several Senate Republicans, urged financial regulators to abolish the 1,250% punitive risk weight set by the Basel Committee on digital assets and to establish a new capital framework so that banks can meaningfully participate in the cryptocurrency market.
