IoTeX released proposal IIP-56: Abandon CIOTX across the network, switch the attacked chain to claim and exchange for IOTX

2026-02-27 11:45:58
Collection

According to market news, due to the attack on the ioTube cross-chain bridge and the unauthorized minting of CIOTX on the Ethereum side, IoTeX plans to immediately discontinue CIOTX on Ethereum/Base/Solana and permanently close the related bridge, with the minted coins by the attacker not being recognized; compliant holders need to submit the transfer hash through the claims portal, and after verification, IOTX will be issued on the IoTeX chain at a 1:1 ratio.

BSC/Polygon/IoTeX were not affected by the minting, and the bridge will be reopened for users to migrate back to IOTX after an audit, and then permanently taken offline; notifications will be sent to CEX/DEX/DeFi for the complete delisting or removal of CIOTX integration.
