Metaplanet increased its holdings by 2,823 BTC in Q2; RWA platform Securitize officially listed on the New York Stock Exchange

According to BBX data, last week the largest listed company in Asia, the BTC reserve party, announced record quarterly coin purchase data, and the world's largest RWA tokenization platform officially landed on the New York Stock Exchange. The core dynamics are as follows:Metaplanet Inc. (TSE: 3350) officially disclosed its Bitcoin accumulation data for Q2 2026 on July 1: throughout the quarter, it purchased 2,823 BTC at an average price of approximately $78,872 (35.4886 billion yen), totaling about $225 million. As of June 30, the total holding increased to 43,000 BTC, with a total cost of about $4.09 billion (overall average price of $95,209). The uniqueness lies in the fact that the company's specialized Bitcoin options trading business generated operating income of $10.95 million in Q2, which, when directly offset against the coin purchase cost, resulted in an effective net purchase average of approximately $75,032 per coin (although still at a discount compared to the current market price of about $61,000, it saves about 4.8% compared to the nominal average of $78,872); the total options income for H1 2026 was $29.2 million, with trailing 12-month options income of $70.7 million; Q2 BTC Yield (holding amount/effective diluted shares ratio) increased by 6.6% year-on-year; the source of funds for this quarter's coin purchases was credit lines, ordinary bond issuance, and options income, without using equity dilution methods. The company also disclosed that it has reached an agreement to acquire the licensed Japanese Type 1 securities firm Siiibo Securities, which will be included in the "Project Nova" strategic expansion plan.Securitize Corp. (NYSE: $SECZ) officially completed its SPAC merger with Cantor Equity Partners II ($CEPT) at the beginning of July and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange, becoming the world's first NYSE-listed company with tokenized asset infrastructure as its core business. According to CoinDesk, on its first day of listing on the NYSE, the company tokenized $295 million of its own $SECZ stock and simultaneously deployed it on the Solana and Avalanche blockchains, marking the largest issuer-led tokenized public stock release to date. Securitize uses its own stock as a tokenization case to counter third-party synthetic token solutions (i.e., derivative structures without direct ownership) offered by competitors. The company previously managed over $4 billion in tokenized assets and established deep partnerships with NYSE, BlackRock, Computershare, Jump Trading, etc., with Q1 2026 revenue of $19.5 million; after the listing of $SECZ, it will serve as a valuation benchmark anchor for the RWA tokenization track, forming a strong triad in the on-chain asset securitization field alongside Coinbase (Base chain) and Galaxy Digital (institutional RWA lending).

Benchmark: The SEC's market structure reform may become the most critical variable for cryptocurrency regulation this year, benefiting tokenized stocks and AMM trading

According to The Block, investment bank Benchmark pointed out in its latest research report that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed to repeal Rule 611 and Rule 610(e) of Regulation NMS, which could become the "most decisive regulatory change" affecting the market structure of cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets in 2026.The proposal was announced on June 11 and aims to eliminate trading protection and quote constraint rules that have been in place for nearly 20 years in the U.S. stock market. The SEC stated that this move is intended to reduce trading costs and provide greater space for market competition and technological innovation.Benchmark's analysis believes that the current Rule 611 (order protection rule) requires trades to adhere to the National Best Bid and Offer (NBBO), while Rule 610(e) restricts "locked/crossed quotes." These mechanisms are effective in traditional matching systems but create structural constraints for automated market maker (AMM) models in decentralized finance (DeFi).The report pointed out that if the relevant rules are repealed, it will significantly lower the compliance barriers for tokenized stocks and on-chain trading systems, making AMM-based trading models easier to access the U.S. capital market system. In terms of potential beneficiaries, Benchmark specifically mentioned Securitize, believing that it will benefit most directly as a provider of tokenized securities infrastructure, while Coinbase and Galaxy Digital will also benefit from the expansion of trading, market-making, and custody infrastructure. However, the report also emphasized that the rule adjustments do not address all core issues, such as the exchange registration system, custody and clearing framework, and the legal positioning of DeFi-native trading still needs further clarification. The industry generally expects that the subsequent "innovation exemption mechanism" will become a key supporting policy. The SEC has currently opened a 60-day public comment period on the proposal, and the market anticipates that the final vote may take place in early 2027.

Securitize has partnered with Computershare to introduce tokenized equity for the $70 trillion stock market

According to CoinDesk, Securitize, a tokenization platform supported by BlackRock, announced a partnership with global stock transfer agent giant Computershare, allowing U.S. listed companies to issue on-chain tokenized equity (Issuer-Sponsored Tokens, ISTs) outside of the existing stock system.Under the plan, investors will have the option to hold shares through traditional securities accounts or directly hold corresponding on-chain equity assets through digital wallets. Computershare will continue to act as the transfer agent, responsible for managing shareholder registries, dividend distributions, and handling corporate actions such as stock splits.Reports indicate that the core of this structure is to avoid the common "wrapped shares" model found in the traditional crypto market. Unlike derivative tokens that only represent a claim to shares, ISTs will directly represent real equity ownership, rather than a mapping certificate of off-chain stocks.Carlos Domingo stated that ISTs are not derivatives built on existing stocks, but rather allow U.S. issuers to create real equity directly in token form.Data shows that Computershare currently serves over 25,000 companies and acts as the transfer agent for about 58% of S&P 500 companies. The market believes that this collaboration signifies that blockchain infrastructure is gradually entering the backend system of the core U.S. securities market, which may further promote the on-chain settlement, equity registration, and asset circulation of U.S. stocks.
